Oh, look, another HBO Original! Billy Ray Smith, a timid Boston schoolteacher in a rough Texas town, sets out to rescue his student Nettie after she’s kidnapped by the outlaw El Diablo, despite barely knowing how to ride or shoot. Along the way, he’s reluctantly aided by aging gunslinger Thomas Van Leek and a ragtag crew, only to learn that his literary hero Kid Durango is a fraud whose legends were borrowed from others. The rescue spirals into betrayal, sacrifice, and gunfire, leaving Billy Ray to finally face El Diablo himself.
